Charles C. “Chuck” Brandt Inducted 1987 Elgin High School Class of 1957 Biography As the only unanimous choice for the Big Eight All-Conference team in 1956-57, Chuck led the Elgin High School varsity cage team to its first undefeated regular season and an overall 27-1 record. He holds most of the EHS individual basketball scoring records: most points in a single game (47), total points for a season (787), most free throw points in one season (211), and a combined two year mark (1,124). In 1957, Chuck was Parade Magazine’s choice for second squad All-American high school basketball honors; the Chicago Daily News and the Chicago American named him to their All-State teams while the Champaign News-Gazette chose him for its All-State second team and the Chicago Sun-Times placed him on its All-Chicago Area squad. A defensive specialist in the Big Ten, in his junior year he led the 1959-60 Northwestern Wildcats in rebounding. |
