David Covey is a lifelong resident of Elgin. He graduated from Elgin High School in 1959. Following college, Dave served 37 years with School District U-46. During that time, he was a middle school administrator for 35 years, first at Tefft Middle School, then as principal at Kimball Middle School for 20 years. At the present time, Dave is treasurer of the Elgin Sports Hall of Fame Foundation and has been an active member of the board for over 20 years.
